Sym:PROTECT Launched! [Music Piracy Protection]

Symphonic Distribution has partnered with retailer partner TrackitDown.net to power Sym:PROTECT. Originally launched by Trackitdown.net, they have extended their technology to Symphonic Distribution and non Symphonic Distribution distributed clients to offer a method of protection for record labels and artists releasing their material.

The system has removed thousands of links and helped steer fans towards legal downloading by frustrating their access to free music online. The more catalogue we represent the more the serious the message! Fees for this service are very affordable and easy to get signed up with.

Illegal piracy costs the music industry millions in lost revenue every year. Popular opinion amongst creative industry professionals is that the sheer scale and size of the problem means that this trend set in stone, but the experienced team at Trackitdown.net and Symphonic Distribution have another idea.

Prices to protect your releases start at only $100 per month and we believe our service represents great value for all labels large or small. Instead of feeling helpless, do something about this issue and contact info@symphonicdistribution.com for more information on how to sign up your release for protection. Additionally, for pricing, view below!

Content Department Updates The Masses

Enrique Perez is the content distribution representative for Symphonic Distribution and wanted to take some time to update all labels and artists within Symphonic Distribution with some news regarding everything content! For any questions and/or details regarding this update, feel free to reach out to Enrique directly at content@symphonicdistribution.com.

iTunes Update
In case you may not know, iTunes deliveries have been delayed as the method of sending releases has changed. We are working through this delay and expect all to be caught up very soon. We apologize on the behalf of iTunes for any delay caused and each and every release is accounted for to ensure it reaches the retailer in time.

Trackitdown.Net Redeliveries
Trackitdown.net suffered a setback recently with releases being processed. As per Trackitdown.net’s Ed Real: “We have an issue that requires urgent attention from our main suppliers. The latest addition to our server network has created an error that we fear has affected your content. We need to receive a delivery of your content that is released between date range; June 6th - September.” We are already in the process of redelivering releases every week and we will assist TrackitDown.net with their error to ensure all labels are properly represented.

Content Rules - Refresher
- Try and submit music to us 3-4 weeks prior to the release date!
- Ensure that your files are 44khz over 16 bit stereo wav prior to uploading!
- Always, ALWAYS, upload inside the release folder for the release you are working on.
- NEVER rename the folder after you have created a release.

Content Portal Updates
The content portal is being worked on daily and we expect some minor bugs to be fixed by the end of September. Additionally, we will be preparing a new round of updates and expect the content portal to have updated features to make the life of uploading content much easier than it already is by the end of the year. We have listened carefully to all requests and are throwing in our own creative solutions to make the system even better!

Symphonic Distribution Company Update - 8/16/2010

We would just like to take a moment to welcome our newest labels that are reading this message! Our company updates are now on SymBlog.com for all labels, artists, and outside individuals to read and know more about Symphonic Distribution. We have signed many labels since our last company update and want to first say thank you for joining us! For our current labels, we have been VERY busy as of late and below are all of the latest updates. If you have any questions with anything stated in this weekly mailed newsletter, PLEASE, feel free to contact us! - Symphonic Distribution Staff

Improved SymBlog Sections
We have updated the section names to reflect a little bit more about what each section represents. This should also make it easier for labels wishing to post and/or read what is written in specific sections. Sections can all be found up top of the menu on this page you are reading right now!

Artist Payouts Launch
We are very excited to restate that this section is now live! Symphonic Distribution has provided this unique feature to its Royalty Portal proving that the client needs are always important to us. This request came to us directly from our labels and we delivered immediately! Every direct label on Symphonic Distribution can login, and calculate royalties per percentage for each Artist and Remixer on their label! For more information on this, click here.

Survey Results Coming Soon
We received a lot of great responses from our mid year survey. We will be adding the results to the Quarterly Label Census report for Q2′10 and have already begun production and planning for a lot of the feedback received. Symphonic Distribution is built directly off the needs of our clients and as we continue to grow, so will the offerings and systems we provide.

Less Charges!
As a result of the survey going out, one major improvement we have made starting July 1, 2010 is no longer charging for label changes and/or per track loaded. We feel the labels are getting charged enough and we will continue to do whatever we can to put more money in your pockets. Already providing three distinct percentages for distribution, we will continue to evolve Symphonic Distribution to be the distributor FOR the record label and BY the record label.

More Website Updates Coming
We are continuing some website updates little by little. Each section is getting a slight re-tweak and we will continue to do so to make our website more user friendly, beneficial to labels, and informative.

Piracy Protection Almost Done
We have partnered with TrackitDown.net and will soon launch a new EXTRA to Symphonic Distribution that will allow you to gain piracy protection for a song and/or songs in the future. We expect to have this launched this month so stay tuned!

Noiseporn.com Remix Contest
Our brand Noiseporn.com has a remix contest live and going right now! Check it out by clicking here.

Limelight Partnership
Limelight is the simplest way to clear cover songs. Artist / Label signs up and provide basic song & release information via Limelight. Artist / Label determines configurations (Digital, Physical, and/or Ringtone) and number of units (minimum of 50) before paying via PayPal. Artist / Label pays one-time service fee and calculated publishing fees to Limelight for the mechanical license. Limelight triggers automatic licensing via RightsFlow’s bulk system and handles the royalty reporting obligations. Limelight generates artist / label notification of license and permission to proceed with release.

Thank You!
Thank you for reading the latest Symphonic Distribution Company Update! For more information regarding this week’s update and/or additional questions, feel free to contact info@symphonicdistribution.com

Artist Payouts LIVE on Royalty Portal

We are happy to announce that the Artist Payouts section of the Royalty Portal is now LIVE! With this section, each and every label now has an easier method of calculating royalties for their artists through the data. If you are a label that is not familiar and/or is not as hands on with Excel this is a helpful tool available to all for free. Previously, Symphonic Distribution had to deliver Royalty Statements via Excel format to it’s label partners. With the launching of the Royalty Portal, the data is available 24/7 for any label to easily and quickly download at whatever time they please. With the Artist Payouts now available for direct label partners, labels no longer need to know much of Excel in order to quickly and effectively calculate royalty payments.

The Artist Payouts section is available via the Royalty Portal and is available for free for all Direct Label partners only. The Symphonic Distribution Royalty Portal is owned and operated by Symphonic Distribution and was developed by our Creative Designer Zakir Akram.

Weekly Estimates LIVE on Royalty Portal

Symphonic Distribution is proud to announce the LIVE activation of Weekly Sales Estimates for all Labels via the Royalty Portal! Every label can login to the Royalty Portal and view their weekly GROSS sales for retailers that report to us. “Our developer Zakir Akram had put in a lot of hours to make this great and we are very happy to announce it’s LIVE! This is a big achievement for us as this was a request long awaited by our label partners.” said Jorge Brea, President and CEO of Symphonic Distribution.

As the Royalty Portal Estimates section states: Weekly estimates are loaded weekly on Wednesdays after 5pm ET. These weekly estimates are GROSS sales before retailer percentages, voided transactions, Symphonic Distribution fees, mechanical royalties, and/or other retailer processing fees. The point of the “Estimates” section is to label partners a rough overview of where they stand within a quarter from the retailers that report it.

By the end of July 2010, Symphonic Distribution plans to activate the “Artist Payouts” section which will enable label partners to calculate artist royalties quicker and easier than ever before! More details on this as the launch date nears! Additionally all labels are encouraged to contact our developer Zakir Akram by emailing zakir@symphonicdistribution.com for any coding or website development needs!
